He’s doing ok thank you Leyla :) I’m sure that original screw was working it’s way out for a few days and now he’s got a more stable one in he’s feeling tons better. I’m learning to do everything with him on the lead so he’s out of the cage as much as possible. Got laundry, getting wood in, doing the dishwasher etc off to a T with him following me round. The only trouble so far is going to the loo with him on the lead so he has to go back in for that
Also had to get him a new buoyancy aid as he got the original totally off and chewed the Velcro fastening off!
He enjoyed a nice sleep on the sofa yesterday! I was squashed right up whilst he had a full stretch on!

Poor little guy, he's been through so much. All that time spent with you is good for bonding (not that I think that was an issue). The last dog I had I kept her on a leash attached to my belt loop...I did it mainly to help with her house training but boy, did that little dog come to think of me as her pet

Thanks for the update Kim! He looks like he's enjoying that sleep on the couch! What would dogs do without their couches.

And yes I would imagine he is going to really get attached to you and you to him. :)

You are correct Barbara! No news is good news! :clap He’s doing ok and these stitches can come out on Friday. He’s still as crazy as ever though! Looking back now I think they should have put this type of screw in his leg in the first instance. How he’s been after this one but how he was after the first is totally different. Personally I think that first one was on its way out from the get go. He’s taking up a lot of time though and wanting to go out at 3.30am most mornings is not helping with the whole house being cranky.
Sure we will get there in the end :fl

Another downside of this accident is that Keeper will have to stay at home with us if Charlie heads up to college. He’s got his interview at Newton Rigg on Thursday so if he gets a place he will be staying up in Penrith from the beginning of September. Unfortunately due to Keepers set back he’s not going to be trained well enough to go up with him as a working dog. Plus there is still the chance he won’t be able to do a full working dogs job due to the break. We just don’t know until he’s healed how much he will be able to do. Disappointing for Charlie but it will make it interesting for us!

We have had a few flurries of snow but nothing that has settled. It is a tad chilly willy here though. Brrrr......

Great to hear Keeper is doing so well now! Yes he probably did need the larger screw in the first place. Fabulous!

Sounds like you've got another dog now Kim. ;)

Yes, it's a shame it had to cost you and the dog a second round of surgery to get it right with that screw.... I dread to think what your final bill will be. Yikes!
Pleased things are looking more promising this time though and he is keeping you all on your toes.
That is a shame that he won't be able to go with Charlie to college. These things have a way of working out right in the end though and perhaps some other opportunity will occur that will make it all for the best. Life has a way of evening up the plusses and minuses most of the time.

The stitches are out, again! :clap We are still plodding on and things still look ok with him. He wanted to go at 2.30 am this morning :th I was very strict though and put him straight back to bed rather than staying up with him. Which Scott often does if he lets him out!

Harry had a nice time in the sun the day before yesterday, both he and Bran were laid out in it

They did eventually head down to the gate by the time I got the other’s in. They were in no rush though!
