Hi Kim


Both of the above for yesterday. Only very short rides up to their summer grazing field about half a mile away but hopefully they still count. All 4 ggs were remarkably well behaved and we had very pleasant but uneventful rides..... I'll take that any day! We were even brave enough to cross the grass field at the back of the village which has always been a place for antics and mostly avoided in recent years on the outward section of a ride to try to keep things sensible. Did you get out on Harry at the weekend?

Has anyone heard from Kim lately? She's been gone from BYC for 2 full days and thats not like her to disappear for so long and not tell anyone. I am worried.

@TwoCrows . Leila, you have got me worried now. Perhaps Scott has whisked her away for some R&R. She has been working awfully hard recently and could seriously do with some down time.

I don't mean to worry you. And I do hope Scott DID steal her away for a holiday. But it is not like Kim to go even 1 day, let alone 2 without logging on to BYC. She would have let us know in the staff section if she had made any plans to be gone. I have her private email and did send her a note this morning and still haven't heard anything. Do you live close enough to go knock on her door? Ring her on the telephone?

Afraid I'm not close enough to go knock on her door as she is approx. 100 miles away and I don't have her telephone number either. I was trying to do what she does and try to see the positives in things but you are right, she would not go away without informing someone because she takes her responsibilities very seriously.
I'm going abroad for a few days at the weekend to visit my brother for his 70th birthday. I hope she shows up before I go and puts our minds at rest.
Perhaps the recent storm took out her broadband..... I'm clutching at straws here!

Yes, Kim is very proper and if she was going to be gone, she would most definitely told someone.

Be safe going to visit your brother for his birthday! 70 yrs old is a big accomplishment, I can tell by my own old age. Not sure I will make it to that age.

Well, lets keep hopeful and positive. I will gladly take a kick in the behind from Kim after starting this raucous, as long as she and family are safe and sound.

So pleased you are OK but disappointed that my first suggestion re Scott whisking you away for a romantic getaway, wasn't correct.... I had a feeling it might be a far fetched option! You are working too hard though and need some down time.

Yes, my sis and I are going to Tenerife for 3 days to celebrate my brother's special Birthday. It is 8 years since I last saw him because he is phobic about flying and it's too hot in the summer there for me (actually, it is too hot in the winter for me but I can't leave the animals in the winter anyway). He doesn't know we are going, so hopefully it will be a lovely surprise. Really looking forward to seeing him and giving him a big hug! He is a great hugger! Unfortunately, I am in a total panic at the moment about leaving the animals and the garden and if I wasn't going with my sis, I very much doubt I would make it. I haven't been away from home for more than a night in a very long time and I'm nearly as phobic about that as he is about flying! I know I will enjoy it when I get there though and having some time away from chores and responsibilities will do me good as well as spending quality time with loved ones. It is going to be a bit of an adventure! Jo is hiring a car and we have rented an apartment in the next village to him via Airbnb, so that he doesn't know anything until we walk in the door!

Kim, I am sorry I jumped to the worry button. I certainly didn't mean to drag you back out into the world when you needed some mental space. I disappear all the time for a variety of reasons, as you should too! But I am glad you are ok.

I hope everyone is well?
Been a busy bee here but I’m back to better form now. Charlie got off to his prom ok in the new suit and in the end he went in a red tie! Had a fab time but it was way too hot for a 3 piece!

We are having some warm/hot dry weather here so there is no grass left in the field so I’m having to put haylage out for Harry Never thought I would say this but we need rain!

Have spent 2 solid days getting hay in that I’ve had baled. I feel better knowing I have some for over the winter. In the heat it’s been hard work getting it in and by 10 pm the other night we’d all had enough. Plus we didn’t have the tractor & trailer the next day only the pick up that we could get 20 in at a time. A few pics ~

Also I’ve been pulling peas that were left after they harvested them. Keeper & Mac helped!

Keeper is doing well. Head strong & defiant at times but a face you have to love!

Hope you & all your beasties are ok Barbara? Did you have a good trip on the plane! Hope so & that you all had a great time for your brothers birthday. I’m getting flags out! Only for the weekends though and early morning! It’s been way too hot here! Hope you are coping with it as I know you are not keen on the heat. It’s like winter in reverse here as the horses are now coming in during the day out of the sun so back to mucking out for me!!

Fingers crossed you will be able to get the flags out?
