Harvey the Great is Dying. . .

Are there any big universities near you? We have MSU here in Michigan and they will often allow the vet students to see an animal :idunno
I feel so horrible for your situation
I'll try to check on Chico State U. I know they have a pre-vet class there. Don't know whether they actually see sick animals. I'll check it out. Thanks for the idea.

About an hour and 45 minutes from us, in Live Oak. Maybe I'll call them. Chico would probably be 10 minutes or so closer. I wanted something in town here, but no go. I continue to seek someone. The cost may be prohibitive too, I don't even know about that. I haven't found a vet that will see him to even ask about that. In December we spent $2,000 to try to save our Gizmo Patrick. He had a tumor and we had to put him to sleep instead. He was only 8. Now Harvey is sick. AAAAAHHHHHH

I bet the Davis lab could tell you which vet sees poultry.

Has he ate anything today?

If Harvey doesn't start getting nutrition today...very soon..a vet will not even be able to save him.

No, Harvey has eaten nothing for over a week (on his own). He is no longer drinking either. He is drooling, sleeping on his feet, eventually laying down and looking dead for most of the day. He somehow gets up and gets himself up on the roost at night to sleep. I stuffed 1/2 scrambled egg and baby vitamins in him Weds afternoon while my husband struggled to hold him. There was no change at all. I do know that Davis is totally out of our financial range. When Moki was shot, the vet said only taking him to Davis could we save him, but we couldn't begin to afford it. I cannot spend too much for a $2 chicken. Husband doesn't want to do anything more, just let him go naturally. I'd like to be more humane. I have so many feelings right now, it's hard to use common sense!

I hate to be a Debbie Downer but I don't think Harvey's going to make it. Davis is where you can send his body to once he passes to get a definitive answer of why he was so sick. It only costs 20 or 25 dollars.
