Has anyone bought a coop from this company

A business slamming competitive products is one thing, but disrespecting a whole country seems a little over the top.

It is curious that this same company asked HSS Wholesale to dropship these same products for them. HSS Wholesale is not a dropshipper.

I bought my very first coop from wholesalechickencoops, and was REALLY displeased.

It was very thin, and when I screwed it together, half the time the screws split the wood immediatly. I ended up using some wood glue to help it along. The bottom tray was lopsided and would not remove easily. Also, the roost bars are SO thin, that there is no way that full size chickens could be comfortable on them in the winter. They couldn't protect their feet at all. It hailed here 4 days after I got the coop and my coop had major indentations ALL over it from the hail, which were the size of marbles. It really wasn't worth the money I paid for it and the shipping. I sold it a few months later for 40.00. I wouldn't bother with them at all, IMHO.

And NO, it isn't because they were made in China.

They were made by laborers in China who were being told what to make by AMERICANS. I can personally say that Chinese quality made by Chinese, overseen by Chinese, and made for Chinese is amazing. Items outsourced to China by American companies is made how the AMERICANS want it to be made.. cheap labor and cheap materials. It isn't the Chinese fault. They are doing their job.

Don't like it? Don't buy Chinese, but don't discredit the entire country. Sheesh.

ETA: And yes, I am married to an Asian, so I've got some inside knowledge on this issue.

The coop is out of square. Disassemble and reset it up on a flat level floor to square it up. Then relocate it to a carefully prepared level site or level foundation of some sort. All of the legs (or bottom rails in the case of HSS09) should be evenly supported.

The removable roosts are rectangular of various lengths. They measure 1 3/16" wide and 11/16" high. The tops have rounded corners. The bottoms are square to fit tightly into their supporting slots.

Hail dimples will not compromise roof function.
