Just wondering what the chicks would look like with a cross of a Lavender Orpington and an Easter Egger??

I am very intrigued by that cross! I do know that lavendar is recessive, so I don't think any of their F1 offspring would show lavender. Also, because EEs don't breed true, there can be A TON of variation between the offspring. Depending on whether the EE is homozygous or heterozygous for the blue gene (if she even has it), the offspring will either all lay green eggs or half will lay green and half will lay brown. Good luck!

While it's true that EEs have alot of variation, the Extended Black base on the Lavender is very strong on it's self. In this case the EE pullet is a partridge based hen(eb) so when crossed with Extended Black from Lavender, this will produce All black chicks that may show some gold/silver leakage when grown up

The melanisers are strong in this one. Because of the recessive nature of lavender, the chicks would be black with gold leakage. The eggs would probably be very pale in color, though whether many of the hens would lay green eggs depends on what your EE is.

I don't have an easter egger, but I crossed my lavender orpington hen (and also a buff orpington hen) with my lavender Ameraucana rooster and got some pretty interesting chicks out of it. A friend of mine has them and she just loves their coloring.

All of the black and white EEs are from the Lavender Ameraucana x Buff Orpington cross and the Lavender EE is obviously from both Lav parents.

I have a hen sitting on 2 eggs from our lavender Orpington roo and EE hen. (There’s also a SLW/LO under her). The sitting hen is a buff Orpington but she’s got no eggs in the mix lol.

I cannot wait to see who hatches! Our roo looks like the one plaster above. Here’s our hen
