Has anyone else tried these brooders?

Are your chicks quiet or peeping loudly? If they are quiet (just happy trills and quiet peeps), they are fine. Mine spent plenty of time away from the brooder plate right from the start.
They are doing the chirp that they want my attention for something. Doesn’t sound happy. It’s the same chirp one makes if I take one out of the box. I may have created some spoiled little ladies already

The chicks I have right now are pretty loud as well. Sometimes it seems like some just chirp a little loud. I bet they will be okay as long as the plate is on, heating, and tall enough for them to get under but short enough for them to kind of touch their backs to. As well as other common stuff (feed, water).

Well I did turn the heat lamp off when I put it in and they got really chilled even after I put them under it and they came out to eat and started chilling and chirping and didn’t go back under until I forced them, then came back out and repeat ☝☝! I usually run to them anytime they make a noise of distress I’m just wondering if I should let them figure it out. They are brats I’ve been here with them everyday since I got them and they sleep in my room. They have really just had me there at their beckon call since they hatched.
Make sure that the brooder is at the correct height. They need to be able to push up into the heat plate.

Perhaps put the plate in the middle of your brooder with the food and water towards the sides so that they can use both open sides of your brooder plate. Also, are you sure you have the plate adjusted to the correct height? If you aren't sure you should have one side lower and one higher.

Mine were raised with the plate from the start and never had any problems returning to the heat source.

I’m pretty sure I do! I have it on the lowest and my chicks are silkie bantams so they are tiny!! They can press up on it at this height! They would only be able to press their head at the next up!! I will try putting it in the middle and leaving them to figure it out for a few I think they may be a little dependent on me so I’m just not going to run to their chirps for a bit I’ve put them under it and they know it’s where to get warm lol

You can make one side lower than the other if there are small ones

Close enough for now I think!
