My Speckled Sussex (20 months) has really labored breathing. It started this morning, almost sounds like she's wheezing. Then she squawks and shakes her head. She hasn't eaten or drank all day. Her eyes are clear and nothing coming out of her nose. She looks healthy other than lifting her head and opening her mouth on exhale. I put vet rx in her nose and gave her 1.5cc of tylan 50. I also put vitamin and electrolyte in her water, but she's not drinking it... Anyone know what's going on? Other suggestions for treatment? I'd really hate to lose her!
UPDATE: She's still alive this morning. She's doing the same behaviors as yesterday. I haven't heard from anyone and am unsure if I'm treating her properly and would really like some advice.
I swabbed her throat and qtip remained white. If it was gapeworm, wouldn't it have red on it?
