Dark room, very bright flashlight, wrap your hand around the flashlight and egg.
Here's a pic of a porous egg being candled..if my linking works
To candle, you shine a very bright flashlight against the shell in a dark room. This allows you to see inside the shell unless your eggshells are dark colored.
