Has anyone ever successfully.........

put Mandarin and Call duck eggs under a broody chicken and had them hatch? A friend of mine took 11 of my mandy and call eggs and put them under her broody chicken and I put about the same number under a broody chicken of mine. anyone else ever tried this with success? My friend has done it with scovies and it worked so we were thinking..........

I've certainly never done it, but it's not uncommon to hatch duck eggs under a good broody chicken, so I don't see why it wouldn't work. It's safer than trying to hatch chickens under a duck, because a mama duck doesn't know her baby chickens can't swim!

My Aunts friend put mixed duck eggs under a chicken to hatch. I dont know the percentage rate of the hatch. But I do know it was really funny when the baby ducks decided to play in a small kiddy pool.. That chicken just stood at the edge of the pool and just started to scream.. I guess she was worried about her babies drowning.. LOL

I have 16 calls under a cochin hen right now. Yes I have did it an it worked the last time, so i'm doing it agan.
