Has anyone had any luck with Valtrex for Marek's?

Hi, I'm interested in trying Valtrex and algae.
How much Valtrex and red algae, and how often?
I have 500mg Valtrex and
500 mg red algae

The other thing that helps with herpes outbreaks is Lysine, so I've been giving my E.E. that for some time (admittedly, I have no idea if it helps or not). I put the lysine and vitamin B into my mortar and make it all into a powder which gets sprinkled on her food. I also break it up into little pieces and add it to the bowl of grit and oyster shell.
She didn't walk without falling regularly from last December to March but then was fine from April through mid October not falling at all! (Although her gait was a little off.) But then she started falling again and now (unlike last time) she can't stand at all. But she has no trouble breathing at all, and eats well and chirps at her favorite foods. So she seems healthy in every other respect. She is obviously high maintenance, but we still have hope since she recovered before.
One thing that has helped, since she hates to hang in a basket, is I have two neck pillows which I place one on top of the other and she sits in that most of the day and sleeps in it as well, with paper towels hanging in the back for poop. One neck pillow is memory foam so I imagine it's quite comfortable! Fortunately one has a washable cover, the other I put into a pillow case, but I make a fist and push the middle downs so she can still stand somewhat.
I also put her in a small dog harness and "walk" her around a couple of times a day so that her muscles don't atrophy. She isn't paralyzed but her legs sometimes stiffen, and one is weaker than the other. If you get a harness, don't get a chicken harness. It has to go around her neck all the way under her and get clipped *behind* her legs so that it can support her weight.

I used Valacyclovir (Valtrex) on my Silkie rooster. He recovered in about 10 days. Symptoms returned a few months later. I repeated the treatment and included a dose of Tylan. His symptoms abated in less than a week. The second time I realized what was going on much sooner so treatment started sooner.

What dosage and how often did you give the valacyclovir? I have a 4 year old silkie rooster that is showing signs of Mareks half way through his molt and with recent freezing cold temps. Staggering, slow limping, and balance issues for the past 4-5 days. I have made sure to give him rooster booster and some other vitamins just in case it's due to a vitamin deficiency.
