People would probably still dub, if they’re real competitive. The dubbed birds would almost always win, because the most competitive breeders prefer the dubbed look.What would you all think if dubbing wasn’t a requirement, but there is no penalization if you do dub?

Never heard of anything like that.I do have a question about cockerel dubbing. From what I understood reading, at certain times of the year, cockerels under 6 months don't have to be dubbed, correct? I think it was before November, but i don't have my standard with me now.
