Has anyone made a waterer with the 'chicken nipples'?

I get the 5 gallon frosting buckets from the bakery department in my local grocery on a fairly regular basis. They buy the stuff IN the buckets, and have no need for them when they are empty. By law, THEY cannot reuse them.

Wondered about this and that's the only thing that kept me from doing it. Going to go get the stuff to do it. I only have one problem. I have two little bantee chickens that run with my big girls and afraid they won't be able to reach it. Any suggestions??

I have a mixed size flock too. I put a brick on one side of the waterer to allow the smaller hens to reach. I really like nipple waterers. http://avianaquamiser.com/

I'm not sure if you have purchased your poultry nipples yet but I tried contacting Neil and he never responded back to me. So, I purchased mine from ebay on Tuesday or Wednesday and they came in today. I paid like $1.89 each with free shipping. Farmtek wanted $11 just for shipping for 4 nipples. This may be an option for you.

I also got mine off ebay, got 3 and a complete bucket nipple set already made

Im thrilled. I got the nipples as back up in case they become hard to get and i need more buckets for more birds.
