here's the ducks upright... They mostly stand like a normal duck and will stand upright when walking/running/ or begging for food:

as for pirtykitty, if your ducks have curly feathers on their butts, it's a boy. If it can make an ear piercing quack, it's a girl .lol.. At 8 months old, you should know by looking and listening... unless you have muscovies, i know they are different....

Nettie,
Fred and friends are whislting ducks.. They whistle instead of quack. LOL.. and both sexes look the same.. or so close its's hard to tell.. they have long necks and legs like geese and mate for life once they pair up.. Both also raise the babies. I will know more later season when they start courting. ( keeping fingers crossed.). I am dying to try duck eggs for breakfast.. Don't think I will let them hatch all they lay.. Just a couple.. Don't need the extra babies.. but man are they cute.. they look like little bumble bees when they are little.
