Has Anyone Used PuppyFinder.com?

I just read through 15 pages hoping the OP got the PuppyFinder dog... so happy it all worked out!!

Sorry to hijack! I have to say @21-hens.. I rescued a “pitsky” at 4 months old. She’s 3 now and I think she might be a basenji/Aussie cross oozing with personality! Every time I see pitsky I always compare looks

@KDOGG331 - buying not all that easy either. Breeders of champion line, AKC registered, 6-generation pedigreed DNA certified Shelties do pretty serious background checks, too, not to forget the nearly $3,000 price tag for an 8-week-old pet-quality puppy that comes with a spay/neuter agreement and you have to have an acceptable fenced yard. And if I had the money, I WOULD PAY IT!

Hmm that’s true!! But craigslist and puppy find doesn’t.

But oh wow that’s expensive!! I thought it was expensive around here. Most show dogs are like $1500-$1800, some are $2000 and the real expensive ones are $2500 but I try to avoid those.

I hear the Midwest and south is cheaper haha

I see pitsky in your sweet dog.
I met both parent dogs for my girl. Both had 100% proper breed appearance.
Depending on where you got yours there may be more DNA in the mix.
You have an adorable dog by the way.
Mine's tail curls completely around in a full circle. Does yours?
Funny when mine wags it looks like someone is shaking a slinky!

Sammy (left) is not well leash-trained, and hard to manage with a cane in my other hand. I'm not ready to turn him loose until I'm sure he'll come when called. So Gracie is baby-sitting! It was fun for both of them. She stays close to me, and he did very well with her guidance!

Thanks, @21hens-incharge , it's what we are hoping for! Dogs can be trusted. They don't lie, or break confidences or promises. They love unconditionally. A kid needs that. Specially a kid that's spent too many years in foster care. There are no trust issues with a dog. Just joy, pure and simple.

A KID needs that? We ALL need that! It's why we keep the needy, destructive, schedule-dictating fur-children in the first place!

I once had a rough Collie named Sammy. I keep trying to remember to call this little guy Sunny, but Sammy keeps popping out. The Kid says he likes Sammy better too. I think sometimes animals let you know what their name is.... yeah, I'm a weirdo, I know.

Yup - our Skye came with her name - and it had already been changed once at the shelter, so we decided to keep it. It suits her, but she's such a goof that we call her a "Goober." all the time. She now answers to both, which is really kinda cool. Skye is her name. It's what we use when we call her, when she's training, when she knows she has to mind. When we start with "Goober," all seriousness (and any dignity she may have established) go out the window. It's time for just plain, lovey fun!
