Those wattles are looking like they are about to sprout and they are looking bright pink. If they do start to grow before the chick hits about 10 weeks old then my money is on a little roo. In another 2-4 weeks you should know for sure. I know it's agony waiting!

Jury is still out, I'm afraid. It still looks like a BSL and if it is it is still definitely a female of course. I suppose it is possible for it to turn out to be a male of another breed but you'll have to wait for it to feather out more.

I wouldn't get overly excited about comb color alone. All of my black sex link pullets began getting pink and red on them long before 10 weeks, and yet they are all girls. One of them began sprouting a comb and wattles like yours pretty early and she now has a set that would make some roosters jealous. Her comb nearly flops down over one of her eyes. She's also one of the loudest of the loud-mouths when it comes to laying eggs.

I finally just realized how to get back to an old thread. Here is the same chicken at 7 weeks exactly..... thoughts?
