Hi All :frow

Is it possible for a pullet to lay two eggs in one day?

I have a cemani/legbar mix pullet (6 1/2 months old) who just started laying about a month ago. She is part of my cemani flock, and the only mix that is kept in this flock, so the only pullet in this coop that lays a blue egg.

The first one I found this morning, and it was huge compared to the eggs she’s been laying. The smaller one was collected this evening. The first picture was of a normal cemani egg and the huge blue egg, second pic of both eggs collected today.

Things that make you go “hmmm..” 🤷‍♀️

Chickens usually lay an egg once every 26 hours. I’ve read other threads where pullets early in their laying cycle will lay an “extra” egg, but it is unusual. Weird things can happen until their bodies get into the rhythm of laying.
