Thanks...I'm doing better, it's always worse at night. But these guys do pretty good taking care of stuff so I can rest when I need to.

You definitely got lucky on that one!!

Awww...so cute! Congrats!
Come on goslings, the world is waiting! :fl:fl:fl

Glad to here is it getting better. My one 11 yr old who has been my big helper since he was 8 is the one that takes care of me and keeps the others in line. His twin, on the other hand, is the devil when I am not right on him.

The kids named them Duck and Drake. lol She comes running when I call Duck as long as I have food for her.

That's awesome! My youngest is 14. She and the 18 yr old will manage the critters. The 26 yr old and 18 yr old cook. The others don't live at home but I usually have 2 of the grands Monday thru Wednesday. That gets a little crazy sometimes but the older ones will help with them too when I'm sick. So not too bad...lol

The boys are 9 yrs, almost 11 yrs, soon to be 12 yr old twins and the 14 yr old. Our daughter is 15. I am teaching them t cook more and more. I am making the older boys learn to make gumbo today. I will not be able to assist as I burned my hand and can not deal with the heat of cooking just yet.

You have a house full..sounds like here before 3 flew the nest. We have 6, 3 girls 3 boys. 14 to 28. 3 grands, 1 to 7. And one due in July....

1 girl 5 boys. We homeschool. I get flack for it. Have one neighbor that constantly says the kids will never move out cause I homeschool them.
Doesn't matter to me if the kids move out or not. Just want them to be productive and be able to take care of themselves and each other.
It does annoy me that she thinks she is such a great mother with the issues her own adult children have.

We homeschool too. The 3 older ones went to public school for highschool but the others didn't. My older ones always say the younger one are much better grounded and more mature in so many ways than they are even now.
Hang in there... They will do great. We get flack from people about our 26 yr old still living at home but who cares. They don't know our situation. He's a big help to us. We use wood stoves and he helps keep wood split and helps dh with things around here. And helps me too. It's more a community here now as they have gotten older. We love it!

It is probably because I do not make the boys do hours of papers. We do a word of the day. I print out a word every day with pronunciation, origin, and meaning. The boys have to learn each of the words cause I use them for their spelling words the next month. LOL So we get 30 words a month to learn the meaning and the following month it is their spelling words. I am not a traditional sit-down and do these papers, read this chapter type of teacher. I work school into everything we do.
Thank you. The only support I have to homeschool is my husband. Helps to get some positive when the world hands you all the negatives.

That's us.. everything in life is a lesson. I think they learn better that way. If it's an interest they will retain it. And every family is different, so do what works best for you and them. And it will be a success!

As of this moment, I have 24 Barnyard mixed eggs coming and 12 Olive Eggers coming. I will find out Monday if I have 12 silike eggs coming or not.
