Hatch-Along - Eggs set in November, due December, anyone?

So the last couple days I've been really bummed out.. My incubator spiked to 103.8 one morning while I was gone so that could have been 4 hours.. Then I got it back down and it spiked back up again last night.. I just thought they must have just cooked in there.

SO I candled them and cooled them down and only saw movement in 8/16 and thought even those might not make it. I have been keeping a close eye on the temps and got it to regulate back at 100.9-101.3 and candled again tonight to see if any of the 8 were doing alright.. I was having a hard time seeing in the eggs so I replaced my batteries.. Well I guess I thought they were all dead before beacause I COULDN'T SEE anything with my low batteries! Apparently they are ALL still kickin inside!!

SO hopefully there are no long term side effects from the temp spikes and I get a decent hatch! Lock down coming soon!

Thanks for the info, Candyman, but what if the chick rolls into the marbles and water? Would it be smart enough to get out? What if a chick were to move towards the heat? Would it know to get away when it gets hot?

Are they stupid enough to stare at the light? lol
They are smart enough alright, the first two went to the fan to dry off

I don't know that was a coincidence or they have evolved into the perfect predators

But I have heard they can hurt themselves from a bulb or heat source, my fan has wire mesh infront of it or they would have gone into the fan.... So you got to prepare for that. I thought they would be slow and dull but ****, they ruined the inside of my incubator.... kicked the eggs all around and well they cleaned after they played too, the empty egg shells have been kicked to the corners
