Hatch-Along - Eggs set in November, due December, anyone?

Well whatever you did hope you took notes because it worked! Great hatch Candyman! Do all of the chicks seem healthy and can stand up and walk around well? I'm so worried I'm going to have a sick or deformed chick

I took notes and made logs, now I am an experienced hatcher.... ask me anything you want people

LoL

They are all fine, why would be your chicks deformed or sick?? was the roo on steroids?? did he smoke too much weed??

AWW yes! Flood the forum with cute baby chicks! Candyman, what kinds of chickens are they?

I am also worried that mine will be deformed or hatch early because a) I am inexperienced and have no clue what I am doing, and b) I have not been monitoring the temperature. I just put the eggs all over the place and hoped they would live. What if some are too warm/cold??

I also have a problem! My humidity won't go over 40%!! I have face cloths in the water containers and the "wick" of sterile gauze coming out of some of the water reservoirs. I think I might take the facecloths out of the water so maybe it will be easier to evaporate....

It's day 19, so the opportunity to fix it is fading fast! What should I do?

katsdar I would say that is too high humidity... my humidity remained at 38%-41% throughout day 1 to 18.5
lower yours and learn the settings you have now (70%) for day 19

3D I had no clue what I was doing either... I hope everything turn out A-OK!
yes do that... my settings: the red cloth is half inside water and the rest is stiking out, the green one was added for extra humidity from outside, I rinsed it with hot water and put it in when my humidity was not going up from 60%, after this it is 70%....

You should look for 60% humidity and then raise it by some other means by not opening the bator, so you can bring it upto 70% but then it falls to 60% because when a chick hatches he is wet and he take the humidity up by 7-9%
I used my sringe-aquarium pipe setup to drop a little water on the floor of the bator to get it to 70%
I am using this green cloth for a stable 70% because the last two eggs are alive!!! and I think they may have some drying issues, idk.
So I hope you understand what I tried to explain.

Yes, I understand, and it looks good! I just went out to my shed and cut a 10 by 10 inch piece of 1cm by 1cm wire (however you would write that) and now I have no idea how to disinfect it! What do I do? It's pretty old, and even though it is not rusting yet, it's pretty grimy. How do I disinfect it?

what ever I used, I just washed with soap... I guess that disinfected it

and the wire mesh I used to cover my fan, I didn't even wash it and I found it lying around too.
