Hatch-Along - Setting eggs Sunday, anyone wann join me?

9 am & we're in same time zone. Awesome!
As it turns out, this will be a Canada Day hatch too! Yay for me, as a Canadian! Maybe some of yours can stretch it out for the Fourth of July! We can get all patriotic up in this forum, lol! Great stuff!

oh yeah! Ill have to set a few extra in bator 2!! Ill set Rhode Islan REDS, WHITE Jersey Giants, and BLUE Andalusians!! I just counted it out and will be leaving the for vacation the Friday before so Dad will be on egg watch!

Ooh, Blue Andalusians! Nice bunch of birds you'll have. I'll be using 2nd bator to do the hatching. I'm already over run with birds as it is! Chicken math is getting the better of me! Lol!

Mine were in at 9 too, I swear! Got busy, but things are going as good as can be expected for setting them up. Woo hoo! Now we wait.....
What kind of incubator you using jbarrett? I'll be using the new & improved Hovabator Genesis 1588 for the first time. Nice digital display. Hoping this will be a less stressful hatch than with my old still air LG unit. I will use LG for the hatching phase though.

unfortunatly I will be using the LG still air but I have had some good hatchjes out of them!

That's great! Good hatches is what it's all about! I don't regret using the LG, I learned a lot. It's just so much work & stress. Here's to a good hatch folks!

Funny, I just set eggs this morning.

I set mine around 10:30 though. 39 Coturnix quail and 8 call ducks, so mine will be hatching before and after everyone else.

Hi there! Sounds fantastic! I've never raised quail, but I'm curious about them. I'd love to have call ducks, but so would the coyotes!

Oh dear, that's awful about the ducks! Sorry to hear that. Well, this is all a learning experience! Definitely worth the effort! I just might look into raising quail next spring. Heard lots of good things about them.
