Hatch-Along - Setting eggs this weekend (Jan5/6) WHOS WITH ME!

These are some of my babies from the original hatch on this thread.

The picture below is of my sons favorite chick "Franny." She so sweet! She lets him walk right up to her and pick her up.

They grow so fast! Those are all looking great. Is the white one a Del? verylight comb, I'm betting pullet on that one :)

All the birds I hatched have grown incredibly fast. Must be that Hybrid Vigor! All of the eggs I hatched are purebred crossbreeds. I think most of the white ones are Columbian Wyandotte x Buff Orpington. The white coloring must be Heterozygous Dominant because 75% of the birds I hatched where white with some Columbian Wyandotte color leakage. Of the hens my rooster covered, non of them were white! I can see why you would think Delaware. Some of the white chicks have single combs and some have rose combs. I think the one in the picture by itself may have a single comb.

They are just beautiful! They sure are big looking... we'll have to grab a couple of snapshots of ours soon. It is really something to see them looking like miniature chickens now instead of babies.

Our two chicks are 5 weeks old today!!! Here's what they look like! Can we tell gender yet????
This is Obie = Golden Lakenvelder

This is Harper = Blue Laced Red Wyandotte
Wooow, the white one is so pretty!! Mine are out in the grow out pen with a light in their little coop though I don't think they need it so will probably stop turning it on at night soon. I'll try to remember to get some pics of them out there tomorrow. They're like little puppy dogs. They crowd the run door when I try to come in then they're all around my feet so I can barely walk! Cute little things. They know who brings the food already! I think my count is 7 cockerels and 6 pullets.

Here's my second group of chicks first moments in the bigger brooder. They weren't sure what to do with all of the space at first but they soon figured it out.

The yellow on Benny (BLRW) is that color maybe not that bright yellow our gold i think a little was my camera but Benny has very pretty coloring like his or hers big sister Harper. The eggs were from the same person so they could possibly be from the same hen
