Be patient dblea202! It's hard, I know! They can be quiet for some time. My 3 have been very quiet today. They expended a lot of energy yesterday, when they were more active. This is day 19 for me too!
Love all your posts - so excited for all of you! I'm just stalking your hatching page as I'm only on day 6 and hatching along with other fellow BYCers. Figured the more places i eavesdrop the more i'll learn! Good luck to you all!
AHHHHHH!!!! We have a chick!!! We arrived home tonight (end of day 19) to a bit of peeping, but didn't see anything interesting to speak of. I put my sleeping 3 yo in bed, got the baby and the big girl ready for bed, and while reading stories we heard more and more peeping. My 4.5 yo DD kept talking about the chickie during story, and we wondered what chickie was saying, and when she would hatch. We finished story and I said good night, then went to see what was going on in the incubator, since the peeping had gotten seriously loud. And what should I see but this:
I ran for DD and we enjoyed a fun half hour with our newest family member! DD said, "Mama, I'm so excited, I mean, this is so amazing...I almost just want to cry!" hehe. Me too! We called Daddy home from working late ("but don't tell him, mama, keep it secret!"), and he came straight away. I think he may grow to enjoy this chick thing nearly as much as we do.
No more hatches right now, but several pips (now that I've realized what I'm looking for!). And this chick is active, and LOUD! We'll see how much the older members of the household sleep tonight. She's keeping up quite a little song...we think she must be trying to encourage her friends to hatch!

Same here. Nada going on. Trying to increase my humidity a little. I dry hatch but worrying that it's staying at 16%. A lot of nail biting going on. I'm trying t remember, if it was late on the 5th or wee early on the 6th. Maybe I don't need to panic until Sun night. Sue
