I have babies too! The dark one is mine. I bought the other 4 because I'm sure the other chick I lost was due to it was being alone. When 1 eats they all rush over and eat. When 1 drinks, they all drink. 2 of the new babies are Columbian Wyandottes and the other 2 are probably silkie mixes. All 5 are happy little campers. (The lone chick of mine came from 1 of my broody hens. She had left the nest and got on another. When I found it, it was laying on it's side and it's body was very cold. I brought it in and put it under the light. Bounced right back! MY luck and odds are tha

. I think when my fiancee gets home from class she is going to add some water for them. She then has to go work at a daycare for a few hour but, when she gets home from work I think she is going to put them in the brooder... Our brooder is pretty simply. It's one of those big plastic Rubbermaid containers. We then have a "desk" light with a 60 watt bulb that sits about 3 feet above the brooder. We had it set up all day yesterday and our highest temp was 97 and that was right under the light and the lowest temp was 86 which was in the other corner. Do you guys think that this will work??? Anyother advice for us???
