Hatch-Along - setting eggs tonight or tom who's with me on this

Well I woke up this morning turned on the light and started talking to the eggs and my lavender pip'd through the shell and started chirping at me ahhhhh this is gonna be a long day of incubator watching haha and crazy chicken talk trying to coax them out...Yes only my people on BYC know what I'm talking about.

Same here! I woke up this morning to lots of chirping and a pip. No wonder I kept hearing birds in the middle of the night!

I know its still early (only 13 hours into day 21) but I am so worried that none are going to hatch. No pips or even peeps yet. My last batch I had 4 at lockdown & only 1 hatched. It died a wk later from complications of too high humidity. I dry incubated this time but I am so worried the same thing will happen especially since they are taking so long to get started.

Congrats ChristyB and Banty! Love the pics. Keep us updated on the hatch.

well I had my PA hatch 2 hours after the 1st...Turns out PA stands for paint I'm thinking cause she's white looking (def not partridge). #3 waited till the kids got home from school like clockwork... Every time someone hatches all the chirping causes 2 more to pip...love it. 3 more pip'd thinking there gonna wait for my hubby to get home. Been videoing it with my phone and sending him play by plays of each birth haha. Thank goodness he puts up with me...

Just out of curiosity, should I not keep the humidity 60-70% for the hatch? I candled my eggs as I set them down for lockdown and some of the air cells seemed large while others ...not so much.

I up'd my humidity to 60% and I had the same...it's day 20 for me and have had 3 hatch...thinking the others will catch up. Didn't want the ones hatching to dry out?! this is also my first hatch sooo?! The others keep pipping so I'm thinking it couldn't hurt...I ALSO have 5 eggs in there that aren't due for another 5 days and from what I've read they can hatch succesfully going thru a lockdown before actual lockdown w/o drowning soooo?! I say go for it!
