Hatch at day 19

Hello all, can't
Believe that this morning I came downstairs to find one of my light sussex eggs had piped with 4-5 hours s\he was out, then another piped and was out by early this evening ! I don't know how this has happened so early and they are strong healthy chicks. I kept temp at 37-38, humidity around 65-70% for the last 2 days Here they are

I've had some day 19 hatches before as well. It is a pleasant surprise. It is usually caused from temps throughout the incubation running slightly high. As long as they are healthy, no harm, no foul...errrr...fowl?

Thanks very much this is my first hatch and its a home made bator too lol, I wasn't prepared at all, wasn't expecting he little cuties for another couple of days at least !

I've got two thermometers in there reading around 37-38C,

Are they bantam or LF?

Large fowl just a freak of nature I think. But my two thermometers could be wrong but, I have 2 healthy happy chicks so I'm very happy lol x

well at least you didn't have the hatch day jitters. lol sounds like you did good with a home made incubator. I honestly have never tried using one. maybe one day I will get the nerve up to build one and have a go.

I didn't actually make it my self, a guy makes them on ebay and sells them for about £36, here are the little chickens today !!!
