hatch date is Friday! Anyone else? IT HATCHED! PICS********

Be sure to take pictures when they all hatch! Oh I had a chicken nightmare last night..... you know how all I think about is my silkie eggs. Well..... I dreamed that I forgot to fill the water trays and all the chicks had zipped but died because there were shrink wrapped in the egg! It was a horrible dream! I had to run to the bator last night to check on em!

My first hatch on Friday as well. Day 19 today - no pips or movement yet. I have 21 eggs in my King suro. Had to toss 3 before lockdown. Its been a dream - kept temp and humidity perfect - so i am hoping for a good hatch, but i am a bit worried about the space they will have as they hatch. its a bit cramped in there. i think i will have to move them to the brooder as they hatch to free up space for the rest, but i am a bit worried about opening the bator during hatching.

Will keep in touch and let yous know how i get on.

Just went into the living room to check on my bator - I could hear peeping through the vent hole and 1 egg has pipped. its one of my small white exchequer Leghorn - starting to get excited.

DONT open the bator at ALL!!!! I have a brinsea and they are even smaller than the suro. I had 24 eggs that made it into lockdown in that bator and 22 hatched. It wasnt that bad. They do fine. Just open the bator once a day at the most if it is buggin you a lot. I usually just let them all hatch and then take the chicks out whenever nothing else is hatching. Trust me, they wont be that cramped! I bet you will have a great hatch!

Ohh remember to take tons of PICS!! **update** no pips, no noise, no wiggling at all...... but its only day 19! Not worried to much. THey will probably not hatch a day early because the temperature stay exactly on 99.5 the whole incubation period. Maybe since these are smaller they still may hatch or pip a day early. WHo knows!

I've been too sick to check long enough to see if my eggs are still wiggling. I am battling a bad cold right now and have been laying on the couch with some gatorade and dayquil. At least it's keeping me from driving myself nuts with checking the bator every five seconds

But last my mom checked we had one that was still wiggling a bit. Seems like they might be resting.

I'm on day 20 with 14 Buff Orpington eggs, and finally have my first pip! I didn't see any rolling with these at all, but heard faint chirping this afternoon, so I knew it was close.

I love this Grombach incubator. It's a fine piece of German engineering that my husband only recently let me use after we'd hatched all his parrot eggs. I'll tell you, I'm never going back to a still-air method again, because I only managed to hatch 1 Pekin out of 15 very fertile, very active eggs with my Avistat. I was so disappointed.

But on to happier things... Included a couple of pics; Hope they post okay.

If you look closely, the first egg (centre of pic) is the pipper.

Yeah, I probably should have spelled it right though. LOL If I get lots of compliments on his GRUMBACH
