I still have NOTHING going on on my end!!! I was so worried I finally did what I heard about on another post and steamed up the bathroom and did a QUICK candle on just 3 of the eggs and they are still alive.....so I'm glad to know that. I know it's still early...but being first ever hatch....I'm on pins and needles. Got up 2 times again last night cause I SWORE I heard peeping. LOL Guess I was dreaming!! LOL

Sooooo I'm still waiting to share in the joy of having pips, and hatches. Send me some good vibes my way PLEASE!!!!! I'm trying to keep my face out of the incubator window....but it's getting harder and harder!!!!!!

Kudos to those of you with the new babies....I can not wait til my turn!!!!!

Ok, back to the one I thought died.... It is still moving a bit. The problem is that he pipped on the pointy end of the egg, and has made no progress in over 24 hours.... Suggestions?

Gotta love the duckies. Wow, now I want ducks. Dang it. I do have a pond.

Well I lost 2 today. One smothered and my husband had to take care of #32. #32 could not stand or walk 5 hours after I assisted in the hatch. Yes, next time if they can't hatch on their own there is something wrong. Now, 30 chicks. I am still thrilled with that number.

I'm sending good wishes to all who are still waiting.

I cleaned the bator and since it was a beautiful day I was able to let it sit in the sun to dry. The inside was easy to clean with the garden hose but, the nose prints on top was a little harder to clean off. lol

I had seen where another member had used sand instead of pine shavings, so I thought I would give it a try. So far it is far better, it holds heat better and dries quicker.

Love those duckies.

I am up to 8, and did assist one, so if he makes it the rest of the way out it'll be 9. I broke the whole top half of the shell off, so he is just hangin out so far.

Congrats on everyone's hatches!

I am soooo sad

So I had 2 eggs in the bator I was especially excited about, they were black crested runners, and they were dark green beautiful eggs. Well both made it to lockdown, but one I was unsure about. The one I knew for sure was still alive pipped day before yesterday, and looked last night like it was zipping. This morning it still hadn't hatched, so I took it out and realized it had completely zipped, so I took the top off and it was a perfect little baby that had died. I think it couldn't get out because the eggs are so crammed in that little hatcher. So I took the 2 hatched babies out, and removed the egg shells, so now there is a little more room in there. One other baby just hatched and is drying off. I hope that last green egg hatches
