Wow, humidity at 72%? I thought it was suppose to be 50% while incubating then 60% at lockdown. I am using a Genesis Huvabotor and that is what they called for.
I have silkies due to hatch on Thursday, silkies, and maybe 2 Blue Splash Marans on Saturday and maybe 3 Blue Splash Marans, 2 EE, and 2 silkies due to hatch on Sunday the 18th. The white silkies could possibly be mixed with Black Cochin, that ought to be interesting.
I had 24 blue Splash Maran eggs sent from Gabbard Farms, she sent me 2 dozen to replace the 1 dozen that were duds the first time. I even went and bought another genesis (#3) once I found out I was getting 24 eggs. Only 5 are showing some type of development !!
Wish all of you luck.
I guess it just depends on what you want to believe and what you read. There seems to be way too many schools of thought on the humidity levels. I can say that with the humidity levels that I have been keeping I have live chicks in each of the 42 eggs. Now, if they would just hatch. lol So, the humidity has finally stabalized at 70 and I have been able to maintain that now for 4 hours. I'm still checking it every few minutes or when ever I walk past I can't keep from checking on it. Shining the flash light in and looking for any wobbles.
Good luck with your hatch
