hatch day :)) 10/30/2012

Yay! Congrats! I've got four hatched now, one almost out, and all but one have pipped

This is my first baby, Aspen, who I think is a blue splash Marans.

And there's everybody else. I'm pretty sure the middle one is a male Cinnamon Queen, but not sure about the other two...we'll see when they dry off.

Congrats! And I like the way you set up your incubator!

i've never seen baby chicks hatch before so this has deff. been an experience..

Thanks. The divider only works for a couple hours, until they get enough strength to hop on top of it. Then I have to move them or they might touch the heat coils on top and get burned.
My four year old's much more interested in holding Aspen, who's all dry and fluffy, then trying to compete with me peering into the window.

Haha yeah me and my husband are the ones fighting over who gets to watch..loll..my 2 year old gets right beside the bator and makes this clicking noise with his tounge when he hears them chirp..i have one more trying to escape i can see his beak quite well but he hasn't got the zipping on the ball yet..

well i've got 4 out of 7 not really a bad hatch for my first time..out of the other 3 two were duds and 1 never internally piped and suffocated..heard him pecking before dinner then after nothing~ he had passed! i'm happy with my 4 chickadees...time to clean the bator and start collecting for my next hatch!~ what is the best way to store eggs long enough to collect for a more larger hatch???
