So it’s day 20 of my hatching eggs being under my hen and I came out this morning and saw a little head pop out from under her! I’m so excited but after watching her I see that ever now and then she will start panting. It’s 55 degrees Fahrenheit out here so I know she’s not hot so I figured she might be dehydrated. The last time I saw any sign of her getting off the nest was 2:30 on Wednesday. It is now 9:45 on Friday. I’m worried that if I take her off any chicks that are hatching will get cold. At the same time I’m worried that she won’t get up until all the eggs are hatched which could still be a few days since it is only day 20. Should I take her off so she can get a drink?
