Hatch On Dates: Oct-nov? Dont Forget About This Post!!!

I had to go ahead and grab the chicks out of the incubator, one had the rest of his cord stuck on something and I was scared he was going to do some damage. I grabbed and candled really quick and saw no movement or shadowing and heard no clicking. I put them back and let temps etc get back up real quick and went ahead and pipped for them. Looks like one passed a few days ago, pipped internally, but didn't make it to external. The 3 others 1 pipped internal but he turned so his shoulder was blocking the pip, and the other 2 never pipped. It looked pretty normal in there, not too wet or anything. *shrug* I'll never know.

So last night I went to bed and 8 of my 9 eggs had pips. I started with 10 and 1 quit early at the end of the first week. I woke up this morning to 1 beautiful black and white baby chick still drying out. Now I'm up to 4 chicks with 2 more partly zipped, 2 pipped and 1 that still hasn't done anything. Today is day twenty-- a little early, but with three thermometers and two hygrometers I know my temps (99.5) and humidity were dead on. Now to think of names........

Just posted pics of my new babies on this thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=403362&p=461

Didn't

Is that drawer liner in the brooder? So no slip? I never would have thought. Is it cheaper than paper towels? do you wash it? How does that work? All chicks are gorgeous!
