Hatch On Dates: Oct-nov? Dont Forget About This Post!!!

Quote:
I didn't have much luck with my first jab at incubation and some say it was my humidity being high. Mine ran anywhere from 50-60. But then their are others that say they have had good hatches with running around 50 for the first 18 days.

I'm now on my second attempt at incubation and I'm giving the dry incubation a try. So far my humidity has been running anywhere from 30-40 without me adding any water. I did end up tossing 5 eggs that were clear and I have 2 that show movement when candled and the other 5 are still in question. It sure is a learning experience.

Congrats to everyone on the new chickies! And sorry to those who have lost some....

no new chickies for me today. I only had one more due today and it's just sitting there. I candled it last night and saw movement but it's not trying to come out

Didn't have much hope for it anyway, the eggs had a rough shipment to me.

For my first incubation the humidity was at about 20% thanks to a dodgey hygrometer. This time I ran mine at about 40-50% and they seemed to develop much the same. Both lockdowns have been at 65-70%. Its one of those things where your always going to be learning I think and tweeking different things each time with hopes of improving your methods.
I hope you end up with some healthy babies soon Steph, and then you will know it was all worth it in the end

And now there are 10

4 more to go (but no pips yet) should I try to take the babies out and put them in the brooder if I still have no pips after this recent chick dries, or just leave it be?
