Hatch with me! Placed in bator on 5-13-2010. First hatch!

I have no clue what I have in mine. We have such a mixture of chickens! The roos are speckled sussex and EE. The hens vary from wyandotts, orpington, rocks, Australorps, Jersey Giants, Black stars....it's all a mystery! I love mysteries though

I put 11 bbs Ameraucana eggs under a broody buff orp and 5 ee in the bator (genesis 1588) on the 13th!

My eggs are gonna be such a mystery also, from 11 different breeds of hens and a Lemon - Blue (

) Ameraucana rooster.

Yeah I know what you mean, really dont know what is going to come out of the LBC eggs. The seller said blue, LB or splash sooo guess we will see.

I'll join in. This will be my second incubator hatch. This time from shipped eggs.

I have 13 buff black tailed Japanese bantams in my LG still air incubator.

I'll be doing a few things differently this time. Last time I candled almost daily (I was excited) this time I'm leaving them alone as much as possible and will only candle a few times during the incubation period. I candled last night and was surprised to see as much veining as I did.

I'm also trying the dry hatch method. I'm pretty much trying to not open the incubator if at all possible. I check temps/humidity twice a day.

I'm also making myself promise to NOT OPEN THE INCUBATOR during lockdown!

I also set 15 BLRW shipped eggs on May 13th. This will be my 3rd hatch. I just did a quick candle and thought some of my eggs were bad because they have this black dot up by the air cell . . But then the dot MOVED! I have babies

Several of the eggs aren't looking very good, but these 4 are going strong!! I'm using a Genesis 1588 with auto egg turner. Temp 100* humidity 40-45%. Had good luck with my last shipped eggs at these settings. 9 out of 16 hatched. I just recieved 15 more shipped BLRW eggs today and will ad them to the incubator tomorrow after the recommended 24 hr. rest. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

I will attempt to hatch with you. I joined the Apr 17th hatch but all the eggs qiuit. I set 18 more on the 15th so maybe thses will do better. The weather was so weird in April/first part of May and that may have something to do with it. I will candle tonight to see if anything is happening and to remove the clears.

I put in 36 on the evening of the 13th as well. Half RIR, half Barred Rocks. Hope it goes well!
