there all girls we've all grown very attached to them and we can't have any roos where we live.

CHICKEE , It is very hard waiting we had a surprize cause ours started hatching on day 18. and finished on day 21. I think that the lady I got them from must of had gotten from a broody . Iam lucky that we work from home so got to enjoy the hatch.

Ok so today is the big day! I've got my cut down egg cartons, my tube with funnel for my humidity needs etc. So how long will it take to see rocking etc? Do they just know to come out? I think they are still alive

but hard to tell since they are all pretty much black inside now.

I have 15 assorted eggs due to hatch june 2nd. ( american game, light brahma, and barnyard mix ) then 15 guinea eggs and 1 black bantam cochin egg due to hatch on June 5th. so I guess I'll join yall even if it is a little late in the show.....lol

2:30 afternoon of day 21. 18 of 24 chicks hatched and flopping about noisily. Remaining 6 pipped or partially zipped. Hope they can go in the brooder tonight. Too noisy to keep them in the bedroom! Australorps were the first to start and fastest to hatch, Marans the slowest. 3 of 4 araucana hatched, one looks to be much lighter than the rest. Can't tell of they're bumless or tufted yet, just happy they're alive.

Are you hatching your own eggs or shipped? Mine are shipped and I'm down to 8 from 15. I am hoping for at least 6 to hatch since two have overly large air cells.

Ok I'm about to go into lockdown. Any words of wisdom? I did a last candle and there are for sure signs in life in the ones I can still see through. Have them in their little egg cups, no more turning. Heat is a nice 99.5ish and humidity is trying to crawl up. How high is to high for the humidity? And what if when the eggs start hatching it shoots up? What do I do then?

Try to keep your humidity at 65% so if it does go up during hatching that it doesn't go over 70%. I don't think it will be a problem with the red vent plug out when your chicks start to hatch. I haven't had a problem with it getting too high. I just keep staring at my eggs hoping to see some action soon! This stage always seems to take forever!!
