Went to the barn and came back to 2 more babies.

Now only 6 more to go! I'm pretty happy with what I've hatched so far.

Our bator is running over LOL - only 3 eggs left to hatch out of my 37 and 1 is pipped!!

Unfortunately 2 little milles died while I was at work today, kids were upset, but it happens.....

I am so excited at the amazing hatch rate I am getting!!

Ashely girl, I know it's late out here in California, but Texas is two hours ahead of me if I am right.

WHAT ARE WE DOING UP AT THIS HOUR?

So far, I have 5 hatchlings, one big pip, one medium pip and the others are just starting to peep. I am tired. One chick (a yellowish one) has wryneck or something similar. It keeps laying it's head backwards. It tries to get up and walk, but really dosen't do a good job because it can't see because of it. I just gave it it's second "dose" of Poly-sol vitamin with a tiny smear of yogurt. It isn't as crying as it was before, I separated it from the others because they were trying to sit on it. It is sleeping in a small box with paper towels and sharing a heat lamp with the others.

Another one, a petite stripey one had it's shell stuck to it's back...boy that one is loud. I did manage to take it off with the help of warm water towel dabbing at it. After 1.5 hours it is finally starting to settle down and fluff up in the incubator.

I am beat and I am sure you are too.........but happy hatching!!

Actually here in Hungary, it's late morning! Sounds like things are going well. Hope your wryneck gets sorted out. My BCM with a soft foot is fine now, 3 days after taping his toes. Here's a pic of the brooder. There's 20 in all.

The light one is supposed to be araucana, as well as the one on the lower left with the poofy yellow cheeks. All the araucanas have poofy cheeks.
Striped ones are the Brown Leghorns, and the dark ones are BCM and Australorp. The lorps have blacker feet and no leg feathers, so it's easy to tell them apart.
