Hatch with me! Placed in bator on 5-13-2010. First hatch!

Congratulations on the new hatchlings! I still have about 4 days left but lockdown starts tomorrow and it gives me enough time to get their brooder ready and time to move my two older chicks (Saffron and Anisette) to a new one.

PICTURES PLEASE!!!

Here's first peep out of the shell - full of energy and WAY before all the others. Still drying off.

Quick questions if you are using a circulated air bator and you place your thermometer on the flooring will the temp still need to be 99.5 or will it be less?

I still dont have my eggs yet... haha, but from everything I've read... circulating air should be the same all over the incubator.

I was getting a little lower reading on the floor in my incubator. Your temps should be holding steady if your incubator has been up and running. A few tenths of a degree off isn't going to effect your hatch. I put my hygrometer and thermometer (Exco Terra retile ones) taped to the egg carton. Here is a picture of my last hatch with the hygrometer. I didn't worry about temps because my Genesis 1588 holds the temps so well. But this time I'm using my still air LG for my hatcher because I am doing a split hatch with my other eggs due in a week.
