Hatch with me! Placed in bator on 5-13-2010. First hatch!

I had 3 Wyandottes hatch - I know one is a Columbian from my own flock, and one is a BLR from yotetrapper, but the third I thought was a second Columbian from my own flock, but it's colored more like a BLR, so I'm wondering if I got my eggs confused going into my 'bator.

I also had a Welsummer hatch and my lavender Orp is ALMOST out, but he pipped the wrong in and had a time of it getting out. I'm not sure if he's going to be lavender or black in color - he looked dark.

I also hatched a mystery egg out of my own flock - and it looks like a black langshan!

I have a call duck and another lavender orp pipping now.

The yellows (mostly Delawares and a couple buff Silkies) .... (15 are from last week) ....

I did everything wrong, yet they keep hatching. I had toooooo many eggs to move into the hatchers (2 HovaBators) from the Sportsman. Soooooo, I stacked them up. Then, I had to keep opening the bators to take out shells and hatchlings. The humidity was extemely high from all the chicks, dripping wet! I can nottttttt believe this!!!

Alrighty people my glue chicks have been released into their chickie hospital brooder and my 'hatching' bator is now open for business! I have new virgin egg cartons cut down and ready to go, I have a sterile and clean bator ready for chickies. I might need a third brooder...... yeah anywho.

The house we bought,well the people moved out early! so we got to move some stuff in on the night of the 5th!!! woot. So I will have room for a third brooder too which rocks. I'm hoping the new chicks will beable to bond with the glue chicks though. I'm doing my final candle tonight on the Lock down eggs for tomorrow! wish me luck! I dont have very many to spare

I set 37 assorted eggs yesterday so they will be due to hatch on 6/26.
I have 25 eggs to candle on the 8th and put into lockdown due to hatch 6/11.

My flock is increasing 10 fold and I am loving it...... I am also starting a flock for a friend who wants 12 barnyard chicks so i won't have to keep all of them. I am mainly keeping my bantams and american game. I just love the bantams. I am still waiting for that lil silkie I hatched from your eggs to start laying.... I figured she would start laying by now but no luck yet.

I had 2 one week old rooster chicks and I added a 3 day old EE pullet to the brooder and one of the rooster chicks started acting aggressive. I wondered if I rubbed the chicks on each other if it would fool the aggressive chick. Well, after I rubbed them gently all over each other, the rooster chick ran up to the pullet chick, stopped in his tracks, blinking his eyes with this confused look on his face, and never bothered that chick again!

I would wait until your glue chicks are fuzzy enough to have something to rub with! Oh, and I saw you eyeing those Blue Ameraucana eggs

I really want some Blue Wheaten Ameraucanas, but the person here in California I was going to get some from had a heart attack and I'm waiting for her to feel well enough to send eggs! Wishing us both a successful hatch with our few eggs this time!

Increasing ten fold? WOW, that is wonderful! Hope you have a great time incubating! Now, with the Silkie you will have another incubator (when she goes broody!).

I ended up with six chicks from 12 eggs. Everyone is doing well. Its so fun to watch them scramble around. Thanks for letting me share this with you all.
