Hatch with me! Placed in bator on 5-13-2010. First hatch!

Ok How do I solve this.... My cochins love using the waterer as a pillow. I'm afraid they will drown.... Is there something else I can put in there for them to use to sleep on?

Since you can't take pictures you will have to tell us how many, what breeds and colors you get

I have a pathetic two eggs left out of fifteen shipped eggs due to hatch Wednesday. I'm trying not to get my hopes up because this has been a really bad bunch of eggs

and I REALLY want these BLRW bloodlines from Bill Braden! I think once you move to Maine it will be exciting for you to get the BLRW's. I love mine

I have had a Buff Orpington and she was so sweet. Some day I would like to get some blue Orpingtons. GOOD LUCK with your hatch!

Yes I'm very excited to be in Maine and get BLRW. I currently have a Buff orpington hen and love her cause she's just so nice to me and to the other chickens unlike my RIR's who boss around all the others. :\\

So there are 6 pips, 1 hatched out. And I'm sad I can't take it with me to Maine!!! The dad is obviously a Silkie since I only have a silkie roo and the chick had feathers just like a silkie chick, and the color got taken from one of my hens I think because Its dark red. So I'm thinking a cross with my White Silkie Roo and my Heritage Rhode Island Red hen. I really want to take it with me cause it's color! And I would love to see how it turned out!!!

But alas,
I have someone in Wrangall, AK who already payed for 10 chicks so it's going to him:hit

I also had seven, out of 13, all are a VERY light splash except for one which could be dark blue or black, AAARGH!

Maybe you could ask him to send you pictures of the little guy so you can see what color he turns out to be? He sounds really cute!! Keep the updates coming!

Hi everyone! Haven't been on much, so I thought I'd post some pictures of my new babies!18 made it to lockdown which was was on the 4th and by Monday morning at 8 Am, I hatched 12 mystery chicks. Two are bantam size (the darkest ones). Six never pipped.

Still I am happy with my hatch though I'd have liked for all of them to make it. I have 5 week olds from my first hatch and so now these little ones seem SO tiny!

Added some pictures:

I have 8 week olds and I know what you mean, these new babies are tiny! When I hatched my 8 week olds 6 didn't hatch. I felt sad too, but I have 9 that did make it and they are so much fun! Now I have 6 BLRW chicks that hatched June 2nd. Sadly two pipped but were too big and couldn't hatch

But worst of all I have chicks due this Wednesday and out of 15 only 2 have made it to lockdown!

I have a feeling only one is going to hatch which means I'll be running to the feed store to buy it a buddy

So you did well

Enjoy your mystery chicks!
