I agree with lutz! I wouldn't give up yet. I think you should leave them in a couple more days and see what happens. At this stage I think it's really hard for them to move a lot. Candle them and see if you can see any that have internally pipped!! If all else fails and they don't have you could always go to the feed store and pick up a chick from them to put in with Mr. Peepers!!!!

I opened one up...well flaked it bc I saw no movement....I was right...he was inside there dead...so I did another one...same with that....and so on to number 6. It's so weird! I saw movement in all of those eggs yesterday. All 6 of them had movement when I candled. Maybe adding the sponges? I don't know. They are gone though. Also, I want to go to a feed store and get Mr. Peepers a friend. I'll try and post a pic soon. I'm still busy monitoring (testing week) but we are allowed to bring our laptops where ever we are moved... I'm so bummed for Mr. Peepers. I want him to have a friend.

They are called Single Comb White Leghorns....but according to my father (who's done this MANY times before- without an incubator though lol) he said those kinds of chickens are supposed to be yellow...and my chick is half black and half yellow (yellow on the bottom)

Yea I can't find any so far. I don't know what to do

I will be having surgery next Tuesday and I have to find a place for him. I still want him to have a buddy until then. I wish I had a house. I also wish I wasn't sick. I don't want to part from him. I didn't know what I was getting myself into! I love it though lol...but I'll definitely be more prepared next year! This one feed store that is close to my school said they may have some in tomorrow. Is tractor supply the only place you can get em at? I can't access craigslist here at school. I am sure that there is a Texas thread on here. You might check it out and see if you could find anyone near you that has an extra chick to get rid of and you might also be able to find someone to chicksit for you or take Mr. Peepers off your hands if you are not wanting to keep him. Just some thoughts about what you could do. Mr. Peepers looks happy and I like the little hut you put in there for him. You are a pretty good chicken parent so far!!!!! Sorry about your other eggs.
