I've already given in to the darkside.

I've been waiting all month for more Sumatra eggs. The first ones I get are sold, so I'll have to wait.

Hi Everyone, it's been over 2 weeks since I've hatched!! It's killing me!!

I recently gave away my rooster, so I have no fertile eggs, and I am secretly stalking the hatching eggs.

I won some eggs from Wynette (Hi Wynette) but asked her to send them in the spring, but I keep hoping

she will tell me she can't wait and have to send them to me now.

I don't want to hatch over November or December, because it's just too busy of a time and I want to focus on my family.

Please remind me I can do this. I CAN do this!!!!

Oh the withdrawals!!!

Although I'm not sure I can. LOL Hatched out my Wynette BCM (sweet little penguins) last Thursday and put 10 more marans eggs into my 'bator this morning.
Was telling a friend about my shipped eggs/'bator EXPECTED experiences;
.............shipped eggs = hope for 50% hatch
.............hatched eggs = hope for 50% pullets..........
and how some hatches were better %s and some were less.
she said 'Well #*!$, you might as well take your money and go to Las Vegas!!!'
Told her "yeap, but chickens, chicks and hatching are so much more fun!!!"
Obviously my friend is NOT a chicken person. LOL
You can do it Newlyweds, just keep chanting that to yourself.

She's probably just never hatched any eggs before. You should set her up with a bator and a few eggs. She might develope a liking for chickens after that. Or she'll just hate chickens even more after all that work!!!

I'm not 21 yet, so I can't go into the Casinos anyway. Guess I'll just stick to eggs. It's a gamble in itself.

Boy this sounds like a dangerous thread. I have asked for an incubator for Christmas. Even gave DH the website. Or he can make one, either is good for me.

But I feel like I may be entering a dangerous zone. I can already tell you all I know I am going to have a hard time not incubating all the time.

I feel like an addict waiting for the first time. Will I be able to be strong? Can I resist???

Six little chicks in the 'bator now, and they're so adorable! Even if NONE of the other eggs hatch, I'm happy!

The only problem right now is the brooder space; I'm going to have to put six 6-week old Jersey Giants in an outside brooder close to the house as soon as these chicks are ready to come out of the incubator, then move 14 little week, week and a half old chicks into the bigger brooder (where the JGs have been) so I have someplace for the new chicks.

Riiiight, like that's the "only problem."

Because, you see, I don't HAVE a problem. Not at all. I can stop any time I want!

hatchers Anonymous... this is the thread for me.. Hi my name is Denna and I am a chicken Addict too.. I am making progress as my bator is in lockdown till Feb.. If i repeat that 10 times a day i will remember.. RIGHT????
