thats terrible americanmom yes i would have an issue with their lack of communication. omg other than that fact you were at work at the time what stopped them from coming straight over upon your arrival home. they should have come and given you an apology and at least offered to compensate you. its not fair you had overhear it sorry for your loss but i am sorry you have such unfeeling neighbours. so sad...

We wouldnt have asked nor expected compensation, it was our fault, we thought we had secured the fence line but the bugger slipped under in the one area it could have... Our fault.... But really?? When our dog got ahold of there cat (that was in our yard) we called them and told them to make sure she was ok. We have been neighbors for around 7 years and have never had issues until of course we got our Rooster. Since we got him they have made comments about being woken up at 6am. Finally after the last comment which was quite rude I reminded them that we listen to there dogs barking at all hours (they have four and usually one they are fostering at any given time)
So long story short Were down to two chicks , one thats an EE and one thats a silkie... Hopefully we have the fence line secured until we can afford to put up a cedar fence and block them in and the neighbors out completely :)

Good news everyone.... they turned out to be lice... not mites... the cure is easy and we don't have to treat the environment.... only the birds... and lice won't suck blood.... only eats dead skin and stuff... so I'm less freaked out.... thanks goodness.... and there's much lower risk on chicks... only they get annoyed at night... so my idea of taking the eggs just before hatching is gone.. lol.... but that doesn't mean I'm not treating. .. ;)
 
Hi everyone todays a better day the dog has new home without poultry no taking any chances of yesterday's rude awakening happening again. All chooks with missing feathers seem ok the black xbred banty hen is still missing still looking tho. The 7 week olds that I have had at a friends farm came back today they look great and they changed heaps. So did the australorp banty trio I have 6 of their eggs in and 6 more to go in. Maybe. It great u found out what your creepy crawlys are majd I glad its easy to get solved. Americanmom don't blame yourself chicks don't know the trouble they get into when they leave moms side but your neighbours should have come told you straight away. Sounds like they have too many dogs that amount is illegal here without kennel licence. How many angelbrenn? Just the 3
