Here’s a pic of the rooster and another of one of the OE hens.

Those birds are OE based on Cream Legbars so they have the Blue Egg shell gene/mutation linked to the Single Comb gene, That means that when you cross your OE together it will be a toss up which of your F2s(the OE are F1s themselves) will lay Olive/green/Greenish colored eggs, you will not know until the hens start laying eggs.. I guess it will be fun times until the pullets start laying

@nicalandia — thank you for your knowledge! It is much appreciated. I don’t plan on hatching any until next February/March. So I guess I’ll find out then. I gotta isolate them with the OE roo since right now they get mounted mostly by my white leghorn roo.

there are lots of variations, I have a cross I got locally from a Lady that lays olive , but doesn't have a big single comb, but looks different from my Pea combed Amerecuana rooster, it lays flatter and wider so not sure what to call it,, She is a cross between a Blue Jersey Giant and a barred rock, not sure of their parentage though as it's an odd combination to get that color, one of these days will have to get a picture of her and post it lol. Anytime you are crossing there is a chance they will lay different than expected.

I HAVE 2 OLIVE EGGERS, GOT THEM FROM RURAL KING, AND THEY BOTH LAY BEAUTIFUL OLIVE COLORED EGGS.....I THINK I ONLY PAID AROUND $4 EACH

I bought a couple olive egger (americauna, maran cross) chicks from a lady (knowing the chance that they can lay brown eggs.) Well as luck would have it, they both lay brown eggs. Anyone know if these ladies will be good for anything genetically for any possible olive egg offspring down the line, or will all their offspring be brown egg layers? Just curious.

I got the sapphire OE from Hoover's as well. It is green but a light green and only looks green next to my EE who pays very blue. If you want a for sure OE I suggest looking for someone who has F2 in the future, those will be darker.
