I got the humidity stable finally. I figured it out!

The plugs helped a lot. If I need to lower, I take a plug out, if it starts getting too low, I put it back in. It's been pretty stable for awhile now. Between 61-64 %. The temp has been fine, and have had no need to adjust it. Just the humidity was wacky.

Good to know, thanks!

Well this is my first time hatching eggs.....every time I candled them I really coundnt see anything but a black mass and an air sack so they are all still in there. One of them has moved so thats a good sign! However there is a smell to the eggs not like a rotten smell just a strong smell maybe there is a bad one in there IDK????

smelly egg is not good, she if you can identify, try recandleing, extra dark room with a super brite small flashlight. You should see some movement. What ever you do, dont let any smelly eggs break, you might not live through it !!!

Good luck

You should check. If there is a bad one and it explodes, the bacteria could affect the other eggs plus the clean up wouldn't be pleasant.

Glad to hear you got the humidity figured out.

Well, I messed up

I didn't have the bator closed all the way last night and when I got up the temp was 90. Grrrr!!! I spot checked (including the one I dropped last night) and I still have movement so there is hope. I had to get to work so I am assuming the temp went back up by now.

What day are you on? Can you sniff each of the eggs to try to locate the bad egg? I hear they can explode and it is bad when they do.

Yes, you need to find the bad egg(s) and quickly...if it explodes in your bator, all the goo will ruin the rest of your hatch! Be VERY careful handling it...when they go bad, they are under pressure and it doesn't take much handling for them to 'splode. GOOD LUCK!
