Looking forward to having babies this weekend. Good Luck Everyone

Well, it's lockdown time here. Out of the 20 eggs I started with, 16 remain. I'm so candling challenged. But the four I took out were vastly different from the ones I left in. Those have a definite air cell area and then the rest of the egg is a dark blog. The rest had lighter areas on both ends of the egg.

I thought getting day old chicks was stressful. Then when they graduated to the outdoor coop, I didn't sleep all night and went out before daylight to check on them.

None of that could have prepared me for sleeping next to the incubator and charting temperatures and humidity levels like I'm still doing research.

My little ones are due Saturday, but it would really be cool if they come on the 13th. I've always loved Friday the 13th.

I've been doing the dry incubation method, and other than one spike to 102 about midway, temperature and humidity levels have been pretty good. I forced myself to "not touch that dial" and instead regulated things by changing the room temp and adding or removing the vent plugs.

The few black hairs I have left on my head will be completely white by Day 21.

Now the waiting begins. I almost have sympathy for what expectant fathers must have felt when they were delegated to the waiting room.

I've got a mixed flock of EE, barred rock, rhode island red-cross, black-sex links and two I'm not sure what they. My roos are barred rock and EE. Only one of my green eggs made it. My three girls stopped laying about the same time I started collecting eggs. Figures, right?

I wasn't this nervous when I was pregnant.

Well, who needs sleep anyway.
