Hatching Again! Oops! Brooding in winter

We don't have mild winters either. The blue ridge is COLD! Just some years we don't have as much snow as others.

You have arctic winters! Nuclear winters!

No we have cold winters. You have more mild ones. If you want artic talk to the members in Alaska and Alberta (those Alberta clippers are nasty!).

No, I am from Georgia. We have mild winters in Ga.

The first winter up here I almost froze to death. I cannot remember being warm that year.

I have my incubators in the bathtub. It's the deep jacuzzi type. Kids get mad b/c they can't "swim" in the tub for a few weeks, but they like the baby chicks

I'm having trouble keeping the temp constant...

I grew up in Milwaukee and went to school at Madison. I don't miss Wisconsin winters, that is for dang sure!

Last night it got down to 9 degrees. Thank goodness for heat lamps and wood shavings and caulk...

Gosh and I am freezing tonight with temps at 52! LOL I grew up south of Chicago, but have been too far south for too long. I don't think I could survive back in the snow.

Well, firing up my bator tonight. Plans to leave for the weekend were changed so I ordered more eggs. Have SLW, Marans and Welsummers coming. Still have room for another dozen when my name comes up on that list! After loosing 6 chickens and 1 roo to a darn pack of coons, I decided I better get busy now instead of waiting until spring. OH, and got hubby's out of work cousin building me a new aviary for quail and expanding my chicken coop!
