Hatching and Raising Bobs

I have lady amhearst mixed with goldens.

I had about a dozen last year. I had them in a flight cage with a divider down the middle to keep them away from the bobs.

I did them almost the same as the bobs. I fed them a gamebird layer ration and kept them in a wire inclosure with some nest boxes in the back. I didn't hatch many, but the ones I did hatch did great. I had a 100% hatch rate with them, and only one died in the brooder. They didn't lay as good as the coturnix, but they were better than the bobs. I really liked them, but they were a pain sometimes. They would tip over waterers and scatter their feed. Overall it was good, and I made a lot of money off of them. I almost doubled my investment of $100 for everything including feed. About 6 weeks ago I sold 12 hens and 42 chicks for $80 which is three times what I bought the breeders for. I sold a lot of chics over the summer and made a little over a hundred dollars. You can't go wrong with that. I already had the cage, and I buy feed in large quanities so it was sort of easy to turn a profit.
