hatching around the 26th post UPDATES here

My other two eggs hatched last night. I have one that I believe is serama X but its weird because the serama is mottled black and based on the feathered legs the dad would have been a mille fleur - yet the chick is entirely blonde colored. maybe it will be a splash color?? It's got to have a serama for a mom just based on how small the chick is even compared to my banty chicks.

Two more to go.
Wish they'd hurry up. I can't get anything done for checking the bator every 5 minutes.

Willow...my hatch is now complete. 11 out of 13 hatched fine on there own. I waited for almost 36 hours after the first hatch before moving all 11 to the brooder. The last three had pipped but not much else so I closed the incubator quickly and they sat overnight. They had made some progress over about 12 hours and one was chirping loadly. I had just about giving up on them and finally only as last resort offered them some assistance. One had pipped and zipped upside down in the carton and all I had to do was turn him over and it hatched with no trouble. The other two needed more help, I slowly and carefully zipped the shells and eased them out. They where both alive. I laid them in the bottom of the incubator. As of 3:00pm today they are now dried out completelyand have joined their siblings in the brooder. All are doing great. So with a little help I hatched 13 out of 13. Started with 15 and elimated two that where not fertile during the candleing process. Although I have kept chickens off and on since I was very young this was my first experience with incubating eggs from my flock. It was a wild ride with not much sleep and I am thankful for everyones advice and support along the way.

Good luck to all with current and future hatches....talk to you soon.

Wow good job!! My last 3 still haven't pipped and since I ook the babies out I haven't heard anything from them, and they haven't moved as I can see. I am still happy with the 8 babies. I will give them til tomorrow and maybe candle them. Good luck for everyone else who is hatching, and congratulations to everyone with new fuzzy butts.
