Hatching buddies?? Hatchday July 8th!! ** Pics added pg 2 **

Oh yay! I'm so happy I found this thread. I have 15 eggs (13 Turken and 2 Easter Egger) that went into lockdown last night. I was only able to see through 4 of the eggs and saw movement. I am praying the others are alive and that most of these little fuzz-butts make it!

Oh yah, did I mention I'm a newbie with incubating

I'll be home pulling out my hair and biting my nails these next few days

Id suggest a nice 9 bulb led light, the brighter the better, makes candling so easy, first time i used a flashlight/light bulb DIY thing, was pretty hard, with the LED light much better, you still wont shine through the chick, but you can see the movement spot on!

I'm using a surefire flashlight... it works well enough. Great on the duck eggs, but these eggs are dark and full of chickies, hard to see =/ Thanks though, I'll look into in

I didn't see any movement when candling but it was all dark and I did it really fast because I didn't want to lose the hot air. So far I have 16 babies and some pipped still. There are still 12 eggs left so its wait and see now!!

I wound up with a 50% hatch rate my worst ever, I have 20 very lively Dominque chicks and 42 more eggs going into the incubator tonight, as I said before I'll be putting them in my furnished air conditioned basement from here on out as the barn feed room didn't work out so well.

my two duck eggs are still wiggling away & there has been a lot of change since weds, but NO PIPS YET. if they weren't so active, i would give up hope, but they are really moving in there & there are shadows that change... my temp & humidity says its right on, has all along, but i have 2 thermometers in there. is there any chance they are fighting the good fight or am i prolonging a long & arduous process & increasing their suffering? i counted my days out 17 times, will they come out spraddle legged since i haven't been able to turn them? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

congrats to all of you who have happy little wee ones. i love all the pics...

hopefully anconas. we had 2 power outages & they were our only survivors of 9. i'm really worried for them & just want them to come hang out & eat slugs while i weed the garden. i keep telling them of all the fun things we will do when they HURRY UP & COME ALREADY!

if they get here anyway. i wish i had a little camera in each egg, so i would know how they were doing. or ex-ray vision like superman.
