Heres the deal. I recently purchased 22 fertile eggs from a seller. When they arrived all bu 9 were broken. The remaining 9 are covered in yolk and newspaper. this was friday. I placed them in the incubator and the seller has aggreed to ship more. I should recieve them mid to late this week. What should I do. Is it ok to place them in the same incubator on different dates? or should I scratch the firts batch and assuming that the second shipment comes in ok start fresh with those? I only have one incubator and am very new at this. thanks for your help!

Since the first ones are slim to none chance of hatching, just leave them in there, put the new ones in and don't bump the humidity for the last three days. just let them take their chances.

I would also ask the seller to package better. What that seller has done is wholly inadequate for shipment of eggs. Each of them needs to be individually wrapped in bubble wrap, and further cushioned from contact with each other and from jarring in transit, and the box marked plainly 'LIVE ANIMALS HATCHING EGGS'. Even at that, there's no guarantee. But if that's what the seller sent you, you're lucky you got 9 unbroken at all, and the next lot are unlikely to be better.

Totally agree with last poster. Sheesh, that's horrible - I wouln't want to even pay shipping for them to resend something like that.

Thanks for sharing in my anger. I will update when the new one arrive in the next few days, cross your fingers.

pretty much. there was another end of the egg flat on top and then covered with newspaper.... seller says she was trying something new. but will individually bubble wrap w next shipment.

I had some eggs arrive in that condition, although the box was well packed, and clearly was marked, it looked like some mail person sat on the box. What a mess, I ended up with two chicks from 20 eggs The eggs really need to be wrapped in bubble wrap and even then you will get an occasional broken one. I hope the next batch arrives safely.

Why would someone pack eggs that way???? What would make someone think those eggs would survive being shipped anywhere?????
