Hatching Disaster - please advise!!!

Quote:
Hahaha I've done this!!! I only had 3 eggs in the incubator but the electricity went out. I had to leave for work and didn't know what else to do. I put them in the under side on my "girls" and let the bra hold them in place. I wear scrubs at work, so no one could tell. By the time I got home the electricity was back on so they went back into the incubator. I got one to hatch...success!!!

Good luck. Hope your babies are ok

Edited to add: They were bantam eggs...so it wasnt that bad

Not yet, we still might get some ducklings (maybe even chicks, considering we weren't expecting them to hatch at all, and one pipped today, only to be partially eaten <_<). As soon as they pip we're planning on taking them away from mom. This is so sad, I really wanted to let her be the one to raise the chicks and get the chance to be a mom. How are your eggs doing? Anymore hatch?

No more hatches as of yet. One is definitely dead and the one that was pecked is not doing so good. She gave it a good peck to the eye. If it lives I suspect it will be blind in that eye.

It cannot stand yet but it seems to be fighting so hard I can't just give up on it!

Then DH went and reminded me that there is a 50/50 chance it is a roo!

I think it was not ready to hatch yet. But they are so far over 21 days I don't know how long I should incubate the rest of the eggs! Any thoughts?!/!

DH created a half way decent bator, but the eggs need to be turned by hand - twice a day right? The shells are dark and full so I can't really tell what I am seeing.

Advice?!?!?! PLEASE!?!?!

at this stage the eggs need no turning.
If you can stand to leave them alone for a day or so I would. if not candle and look for signs of movement or veins. if you have those, leave them longer, if not, I'd peek into the large end and decide if there's any sign of life. I had one bantam egg successfully hatch at 27 days after it had fallen out of the nest.
